The Cuban missile crisis is still a threat. Okay, so it’s not 1962 but don’t tell that to the Dodgers. With the Dodgers consistently adding to their disabled list and struggling to score runs, they’ve called up the Cuban sensation, Yasiel Puig. He’s expected to start in center field tomorrow when the Dodgers return home from their road trip.
When the Dodgers signed Puig last year to a seven year $42 million contract, Dodgers fans said, “who?”. After the show Puig put on in spring training, fans quickly learned why the Dodgers were willing to give a then unknown player such a hefty sum.
Twitter has been active all season long with questions regarding Puig and his potential call up. The hope is that he goes from trending on twitter to sending missiles over the fence, something that he’s been doing in Double-A Chattanooga.
